Senecio

Paul Klee painted Senecio in 1922, at the Bauhaus in Weimar. A round face built from flat planes of orange, pink, yellow and white, with eyes that are not quite level. Its full title is Head of a Man Going Senile, yet the face feels both childlike and wise. The painting is in the Kunstmuseum Basel.
